Recently, online reports that questioned the third-class prize-winning project of the 34th National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Contest Elementary School Group, "C10orf67's Function and Mechanism in the Development of Colorectal Cancer", have aroused public attention. We quickly established a special investigation working group to conduct a comprehensive investigation of the contest evaluation. The review committee organized experts to conduct a timely review of this project, and now informs about the investigation and processing results as follows:
The expert group believes that the research report on the function and mechanism of C10orf67 in the occurrence and development of colorectal cancer has high professionalism and academic level, but its supporting materials and new materials discovered by investigation visits cannot fully prove the author. Independently completed the overall design and writing of the project report. The expert group determined that the professional degree of the project research report exceeds the author's cognitive level and writing ability, and the project research report cannot be independently written by the author himself. Based on the above, the jury recommended that the text of the project research report be written in a manner that does not comply with Article 3 of the "National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition Rules (2018 Revision)" review principle: "The project research report must be written by the author himself".
