She is the first Egyptian woman to obtain a doctorate in atomic radiation. She is also the first woman to hold a teaching position at the university.
She died in a car accident believed to be premeditated in 1952. She was born on March 3, 1917, in Cairo, Egypt. She has two brothers and one sister. She studied at the Faculty of Science, Cairo, until she was 18. She then went on to study at the University of Cairo, where she graduated in 1939.
