[Commentary] On July 1, a man in Hong Kong drove a motorcycle with a flag related to "Hong Kong Independence" and ran into a police officer. He was immediately ambushed by the police. He was arrested on suspicion of violating the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Maintenance of National Security. The case appeared again in the West Kowloon Magistrates' Court on the afternoon of July 6. The defendant was not allowed to bail, and the case was postponed until October.

  The 23-year-old defendant, Tang Yingjie, was suspected of driving a motorcycle with the flag of "Hong Kong Independence" in Wan Chai on July 1 and crashed into the police defense line, causing three police officers to be seriously injured.

  The defendant was charged on July 3 with two charges of inciting others to split the country and terrorist activities. He was absent from the hearing because he was hospitalized for a fractured leg. The case was brought to the West Kowloon Magistrates Court again on the 6th. The defendant appeared in a wheelchair to appear in court.

  The prosecution said that the police needed time to collect CCTV footage, public news footage, and the inspection of the accused's motorcycles and mobile phones, so he applied for the case to be postponed for 3 months until October 6 to be heard again. Chief Magistrate Su Huide said that the defendant was not allowed to bail in consideration of the seriousness of the case.
