The situation is "globally stabilized" at the Lannion hospital center (Côtes d'Armor), in the words of the Regional Health Agency. After the discovery of a first positive case of coronavirus on May 1, a major health survey was carried out at the Costa Rican hospital. A total of 808 virological tests were conducted and 73 positive cases were recorded. The Covid-19 would have affected 48 professionals and 25 patients and residents of the structure. Test results are still pending, specifies the ARS.

The stabilization of the situation allowed the hospital to return to almost normal activity. While it was no longer receiving patients in its geriatric medicine department, the establishment was able to gradually reopen its unit on June 2 "after a complete bio-cleaning of the entire premises", adds the ARS, which specifies that "this resumption of activity remains progressive". In particular, all patients have been placed in individual rooms and their nursing staff are specifically dedicated to the service and cannot be required to use other services or changing rooms.

At the start of May, 46 positive cases had been recorded at the Lannion hospital center. According to the Actu.fr site, it is a 73-year-old patient suffering from cognitive disorders who could have transported the virus by wandering through several departments of the establishment.

Compared to other French regions, Brittany has been relatively spared by the Covid-19 epidemic, even if there are just over 250 deaths in hospitals, to which must be added 69 deaths in nursing homes. The number of new cases has been very low since deconfinement.
