A disappointing score for France 2! In place of the final of Eurovision 2020, which should have been held in Rotterdam (Netherlands), it was a special program, called Europe Shine A Light, presented live by Stéphane Bern, that the channel offered public this Saturday. The 41 candidates' performances did not attract 1.17 million viewers, or 7.5% of audience share until 1.10 am, according to Médiamétrie.
For the first time since its launch in 1956, Eurovision had withdrawn due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2019, the 64th edition of the Eurovision contest had attracted 4.8 million viewers on average on France 2 between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m., i.e. 30.2% audience share (pda), crushing The Voice on TF1 .
Europe Shine A Light arrives in 4th position in front of the Dr Harrow series on M6, the re-broadcast of Laurent Gerra's show "Sans moderation" on TF1 and the new television film Crime in Hérault on France 3.
