China News Network Lanzhou, April 10 (Yan Jiao Ai Qinglong) Cut thorns, dig tree dens, plant trees for watering ... In early April, Shang Meiping, a villager in Laoye Temple Village, Jianshan Township, Wen County, Longnan City, Gansu Province, was on the slope Plant trees. It is said locally that “five mountains and five broken ends, ten grooves and nine grooves do not flow. It is difficult to meet each other for a long time.” This sentence is used to describe the mountains and dangers. In the past three years, Shang Meiping has reclaimed barren slopes on mountains with many "broken roads" and planted more than 40,000 trees.

According to local elders, the village where Laoyemiao Village is located has a wide range of mountains and stone mountains with few green plants. "The mountain is too dry, and the hoe cannot be dug in a few times." Shang Meiping is tall and straight. In his words, his original intention in planting trees was to turn Wangpingliang, a bald mountain behind the village, into a green mountain.

Wang Pingliang is the northern mountain of Laoye Temple Village. Over the years, the government and villagers have planted many trees on the barren slopes, but few survived, so no one is willing to plant anymore, so that it is all year round. Vegetation is missing and the hillside is bare.

Laoyemiao Village is located in a low-lying place at the foot of the mountain. Shang Meiping recalled that because of the rain, a more serious landslide occurred three years ago, and more than 1 meter of silt accumulated in the villagers' homes. This aroused everyone's reflection. In the future, it may even threaten the personal safety of the villagers. In order to prevent worse results, Shang Meiping decided to green the hillsides and protect his homeland.

Shang Meiping used to raise seedlings and sell seedlings to make a living. In 2018, he decided to plant all the seedlings in Beishan and plan to green the mountains on which he lives at all costs. In his view, planting trees can prevent mudslides and benefit future generations.

"The government is also very supportive, and I have more confidence." Shang Meiping said that before the government subsidized 50,000 yuan, he had temporarily suspended his "anxiety." Because he planted trees, he spent all his savings in the family. Every summer and autumn, he and his wife go to Xinjiang to work, return home in winter, and plant trees again in spring. The money earned from working is used to pay the wages of tree-planting workers.

Recently, there are more than ten villagers planting trees. Shang Meiping pays 120 yuan per person per day. He commented that he was "especially stubborn." He had to do what he wanted to do. If he did not succeed, he would be uncomfortable. "Money is a small thing. I want to let Miaozi shine a 'green light' on the mountain.

Shang Meiping ’s wife Zhang Guiju said that considering the difficulties in rural family life, at first the whole family opposed Shang Meiping ’s own tree planting at his own expense. “He has a firm attitude and runs on the mountain every day before dawn. He wakes up with the alarm clock at midnight and goes to the mountain to check We have to support him in the case of cisterns and forests. "

Shang Meiping said that more than 20,000 arborvitae plants will continue to be planted this year, and that the planting area will be expanded to the right side of the hillside.

"If there is such a person in every village, there will be no barren mountains." Zhao Junhong, the head of Jianshan Township, said that the village will continue to fight for materials and support him in terms of manpower and material resources. (Finish)
