The starter cable was founded in 2004 and has been distributed at the Gothenburg Film Festival since then. The award is described as one of the world's largest short film awards and consists of SEK 350,000 in the form of film technology, services and cash.
Previous winners include films such as My Burden by Niki Lindroth Von Bahr, Värn by John Skoog and Las Palmas by Johannes Nyholm. Movies that have all achieved success internationally.
