Pearl Jam have announced this Monday that they end seven years of record silence with the release of what will be their eleventh studio album . Gigaton is the title of the album, which will arrive on March 27 through Monkeywrench Records / Republic Records in the United States and Universal Music in the rest of the world.

The cover of Pearl Jam's album is illustrated with a photograph of a glacier that denounces global warming. This is an image called Icefall , made in Norway by Paul Nicklen.

This new album by the veteran American rock group, which will soon celebrate three decades of experience, features production by Josh Evans with the group itself and the first single will be titled Dance of the Clairvoyants .

"Making this record was a long journey," explains guitarist Mike McCready on the Seattle group's website in a statement collected by Europa Press.

And he adds: "Emotionally it was dark and confusing at times, but what I experienced in turn was also something exciting and experimental. Collaborating with my colleagues in Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, greater awareness and greater knowledge about the human connection that we need in these times, "he adds.

The group also announces a North American presentation tour starting in March. Then he will visit Europe on a summer tour that has no stop in Spain.
