BANGKOK (Reuters) - A burger restaurant in Bangkok sparked an uproar on Monday after YouTube users began challenging each other for their biggest meal, a six-kilogram sandwich covered with fried onion rings, bacon and mayonnaise.

Chris Steaks & Burgers offers 10,000 baht ($ 330) a prize for those who can finish a gourmet meal in nine minutes - one pat for every calorie.

Owner Comdic Kungswan, who says the burger is the largest in the country, invented the competition after three agents managed to get the job done. New competitors come every day.

Among them was Bakorn Burnchuangkun, who failed to finish the meal on time. "I will have the burger sometime (in the future) but not soon," he said.

The giant beef sandwich costs 2,500 baht ($ 82.75).
