According to the German Allergy and Asthma Association, domestic dust mites attack allergy patients in the autumn and winter in particular, because of the warm environment inside the house.

The symptoms of dust mite allergy are redness, swelling, frequent sneezing, colds, stuffy nose and itchy eyes, especially in the morning.

To cope with domestic dust mites, the association advises allergy patients to ventilate and cool the mattress after sleep.

It is important to regularly ventilate the bedroom because a temperature of more than 20 degrees promotes mite reproduction, while air humidity should not exceed 60%.

The association pointed out that smooth floors such as tiles, marble and the like are better than carpets; they can only be wiped with a damp cloth. The floor should be flushed every two or three days.

All accumulated dust mites, such as curtains and upholstery, should be abandoned, while pads and sheets can be used for allergy sufferers.

It is necessary to change the outer mattress of the bed once a week, taking into account the washing of the pillow and bed cover regularly, at least once every three months and at a temperature of 60 degrees.
