An American man donated his mother's body to contribute to medical and scientific research, but later discovered that the body was used in a test to measure the impact of explosives.

The case has been filed against a biological resource center in Arizona after the FBI raided the center in 2014 and found hundreds of human remains in a neglected state, the BBC reported.

Before its closure, the center was accused of illegally selling human organs and violating the wishes of donors.

Jim Stover, one of the plaintiffs who sued the center, said he donated his mother's body thinking he would use it to research Alzheimer's disease, which he had.
He added that when the request for donation is fulfilled at the center, he confirmed in writing his refusal to use the body for testing explosives.
