Yunnan's Jingmai Mountain successfully applied for World Heritage status and became a popular tourist destination. Tourists booked rooms for the Spring Festival two months in advance.

Since the 10th century AD, the ancestors of the Bulang and Dai people have successively migrated to the mountain to settle, plant tea trees, and form a relatively well-preserved ancient tea garden of thousands of acres of cultivation. In May 2013, the ancient tea forest was announced by the State Council as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units. On September 17, 2023, the "Pu'er Jing mai Mountain Ancient Tea Forest Cultural Landscape" was officially included in the World Heritage List.
