Around 300 chickens died on a poultry farm in Lower Bavaria. Unknown people tried to break into the chicken coop on the night from Friday to Saturday.
The animals probably panicked and kicked each other to death. In total there are around 5,000 chickens on the poultry farm. The authorities are investigating trespassing, property damage and violations of the Animal Welfare Act. The district veterinary office has been informed. The incident is being investigated by the police and the district prosecutor's office in Dingolfing-Landau.
