Around 300 chickens died on a poultry farm in Lower Bavaria, presumably because of an attempted break-in. As the police announced on Tuesday, unknown people tried to break into the chicken coop in Wallersdorf (Dingolfing-Landau district) on the night from Friday to Saturday. The animals probably panicked and kicked each other to death. In total there are around 5,000 chickens on the poultry farm. The district veterinary office has been informed.

The authorities are investigating trespassing, property damage and violations of the Animal Welfare Act.
