16-year-old from Lake Constance was with his school class on a class trip. The rope was torn when the student was exactly above the middle of the gorge.
Emergency services took the teenager to a hospital with a rescue helicopter. Police are now investigating the operator of the plant for negligent bodily injury. The student was taken by helicopter to a clinic in Saxony. The rescue operation took place in the town of Rathmannsdorf in the state of Saxony, where the zip line is based.
