Four herring kings were spotted in the Adriatic Sea at once. Three dead fish lay on the shore, while another one - at the larval stage - turned out to be alive.

Encounters with this species of fish are extremely rare, the article says. In 2019, residents of Primorye found an herring king on the coast. The head of the ichthyology laboratory of the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Arkady Balushkin, commented on reports.
