According to him, three dead fish lay on the shore, while another one - at the larval stage - turned out to be alive.
“Encounters with this species of fish are extremely rare,” the article says.
It is noted that this type of fish was spotted in the Adriatic only three times.
In 2019, residents of Primorye found an herring king on the coast.
Later, the head of the ichthyology laboratory of the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Arkady Balushkin, commented on reports of an herring king found in Primorye.
