Fishermen have been asked to halt construction work on a military camp that is proceeding on land adjacent to the airport. The Ministry of Defense plans to move the 17 Ground Self-Defense Force Ospreys temporarily stationed at Kisarazu Garrison in Chiba Prefecture to Saga Airport.
Four people, including fishermen from Saga City, who oppose the deployment plan, filed for a provisional injunction to halt the construction in August last year. The Saga District Court will make a decision on this matter on the afternoon of the 21st.
