The Children and Family Affairs Agency has proposed new standards for "temporary protection facilities" where abused children and others live. Temporary shelters are facilities where children who have been taken into urgent care due to parental abuse live for up to two months in principle.

People who have lived there have told us that they had to reuse their underwear because they couldn't bring their personal belongings with them. The new draft standards stipulate that children's rights should not be restricted without a justifiable reason. The Children and Families Agency plans to formulate new standards within this fiscal year.
