Minister of Justice Koizumi spoke about preventive measures being taken at prisons across the country in response to the assault on inmates at Nagoya Prison. 22 young correctional officers repeatedly assaulted three inmates from 2021 to 2017, and 13 of them were referred to prosecutors and all charges were suspended.
