Peter Feldmann: Former Frankfurt mayor fails with appeal to the Constitutional Court. Feldmann was mayor of Frankfurt am Main from 2012 to 2022.
In a corruption trial in December 2022, the former mayor was sentenced by the Frankfurt regional court in two cases to a fine of 120 daily rates of 175 euros, a total of 21,000 euros. The background to the proceedings was the former SPD politician's close ties to the Workers' Welfare Association (Awo). One case concerns the employment of Feldmann's then partner in a German-Turkish Awo daycare center, where she received an above-standard salary.
