Oita “Tenryo Hita Doll Festival” begins with Hina dolls from about 300 years ago. Approximately 5,000 Hina Dolls are displayed at 18 locations in the city, including old houses and museums.
You can enjoy "Goten Hina" etc. at the museum in Mameda-cho, where the townscape of those days still remains. The dolls are made from scraps of cloth, cotton, and cardboard, and the dolls depicting Kabuki scenes stand out.
