Historic sailing ship sinks in Lübeck harbor. Incoming water was noticed, but any help came too late.

Fire brigade placed oil barriers around the sunken boat so that the water would not be further polluted. The ship in need of repair is a galleass built in 1881 that was used as a sealer and whaler in the northern part of the German city. The Lower Water Authority will order the ship owner to have the sailor properly secured and salvaged. There may have been a dog on board.
