A man has been killed in the southern Italian province of Avellino in Campania. The man was run over by his own car, which in turn was swept away by the masses of water on the road.

The worst affected municipalities are Forino, Celzi and Montoro. Just last week, there were floods in the north of Italy. At least 15 people died in the floods, which were caused by heavy rain and hail. In parts of Naples, heavy downpours began on Thursday afternoon.
