IR corruption case: Former lawmaker Tsukasa Akimoto sentenced to 4 years in prison in second trial. He was charged with bribery and witness bribing in a corruption case involving IR (integrated resort facility) business.

Akimoto is accused of bribery for accepting bribes worth approximately 7.5 million yen from Chinese companies and other sources. The court ruled that the 3 million yen allegedly given to him at the Diet House and the travel expenses for the invitation to Macau constituted bribes, and following the first trial, he was sentenced to four years.
