Haaretz newspaper accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of becoming a tool for the destruction of Israel. Le Monde, it said that the American abstention from voting sparked an open crisis with Israel, and reflected discontent with Netanyahu. The Guardian newspaper called on the United States to stop facilitating mass killing in the Gaza Strip by taking the step of suspending the supply of weapons to Israel.
