In the case where multiple members of Nihon University's American football team were arrested and charged with concealing illegal drugs, the Metropolitan Police Department has newly referred six members. A total of six people were referred to the prosecutor's office, including four third-year male members of the American football club and two alumni.
According to investigators, each of the six people is suspected of violating the Special Drug Provisions Act for possessing illegal drugs believed to be marijuana in Tokyo between February and June 2023. In response to a series of incidents, the university officially disbanded the club in January of this year and withdrew from the Kanto Student Federation.
