Hepatitis B was generally considered to be incurable and the virus would be carried for life. Antiviral treatment for hepatitis B can effectively suppress the virus, but it is difficult to eliminate the virus.

Once clinical cure is achieved, the risk of liver cancer is equivalent to that of healthy people, and antiviral drugs are expected to be discontinued. The National Health Commission’s Hospital Management Research Institute and other units have recently launched the “Hep atitis B Clinical Cure Clinic Standardization Construction and Capacity Improvement Project” across the country.
