Once thought to be extinct in China, this is the first time Dongguan has been spotted in the wild. The painted ibis mainly inhabits warm rivers, lakes and swamps, and sometimes goes to rice paddies.

The food and environment of the rice fields in Li Village are suitable for their living needs, so these painted ibises choose to stay in the paddy fields of Li Village to perch, and will migrate again after replenishing physical strength. At present, 329 species of birds have been observed and recorded by people in Dongguans.
