Died after being detained for a long time in a police station detention cell; one officer was summarily indicted; eight others were not indicted. In December 2022, a 43-year-old man who had been arrested and detained on suspicion of obstructing official duties died of kidney failure in the custody cell of Okazaki Police Station in Aichi Prefecture.

The man was detained for more than 100 consecutive hours with belt-type handcuffs and ropes due to his violent behavior. On the other hand, no charges were filed against eight other police officers at the time.
