Culling of about 13,000 chickens due to bird flu started at chicken farm in Minamisatsuma, Kagoshima. This is the ninth outbreak in the country at a poultry farm this season.
The area within a 3km radius of this poultry farm has been designated as a ``restricted movement area,'' where the movement of chickens and eggs is prohibited. There are a total of 15 poultry farms within a 10km radius that are subject to the restrictions, and approximately 360,000 chicken are being raised there.
