Children decorated the Udatsu Townscape in Mima City, Tokushima Prefecture, with messages of love for their families. Message cards were displayed in front of the Yoshida Family Residence, an indigo merchant's mansion that remains from the Edo period.

The messages were written to their families by approximately 190 children from six certified child care centers and kindergartens in the city. Words such as "love" are recorded on the heart-shaped indigo-dyed washi paper.
