In preparation for Valentine's Day, children decorated the Udatsu Townscape in Mima City, Tokushima Prefecture, which once prospered with the indigo trade, with indigo-dyed washi paper with messages of love for their families. Ta.

This event was held by Mima City in the Udatsu Townscape, a tourist area that once flourished as an indigo distribution center, with the aim of getting people familiar with the culture of indigo dyeing.

On the 11th of this month, in preparation for Valentine's Day, message cards were displayed in front of the Yoshida Family Residence, an indigo merchant's mansion that remains from the Edo period.

The messages were written to their families by approximately 190 children from six certified child care centers and kindergartens in the city, and were written on heart-shaped indigo-dyed washi paper expressing their gratitude to their parents. Words such as ``love'' are recorded here.

The children carefully decorated each weeping willow branch in front of the mansion with pieces of paper written with words such as ``Thank you for everything'' and ``I love you.''

The participating children said things like, ``I wrote thank you to my mother for everything,'' and ``I wrote that I love my mother's food.I like curry.''

This message will be displayed on the ``Udatsu Townscape'' until the 16th.
