A 45-year-old from Germany has died in an avalanche in Switzerland. The man had been traveling with a friend at the foot of the Aletschhorn.
The avalanche broke loose at an altitude of about 3300 meters and swept him away. According to the information, his companion was not swept away by the avalanche and was unharmed. The accident occurred near Naters in the canton of Valais, police said. The victim had German citizenship and lived in Germany.
