Approximately 250 weeping plum trees at Mimuroto Temple in Uji, Kyoto are in full bloom. Visitors enjoyed looking at the white and pink plum blossoms and taking pictures with their cameras.
According to the temple, the flowers bloom 10 days to two weeks earlier this year due to the warm winter. A woman in her 70s who visited with her husband from Hiroshima Prefecture said, ``Weeping plum blossom are as gorgeous and beautiful as cherry blossoms.'' The weeping plumossom can be enjoyed until early March.
