Mimuroto Temple in Uji City is known as a famous place for flowers such as hydrangeas and azaleas, and this time of year the weeping plum blossoms are at their best.



The plum garden, which was created on the slope of a mountain, is approximately 8,000 square meters in size, and approximately 250 weeping plum trees are planted there.



Visitors enjoyed looking at the white and pink plum blossoms and taking pictures with their cameras while the faint scent of plums wafted through the air.



According to the temple, the flowers bloom 10 days to two weeks earlier this year due to the warm winter.

A woman in her 70s who visited with her husband from Hiroshima Prefecture said, ``Weeping plum blossoms are as gorgeous and beautiful as cherry blossoms.''



A woman in her 60s visiting from Nagoya said, ``The plum blossoms are beautiful and the view is nice.''



The weeping plum blossoms at Mimuroto Temple can be enjoyed until early March.
