Al-Duwairi expects Israel's plans to deal with the old and emergency Rafah camps. He described Cairo's position on the invasion of Rafah and the occupation of the Philadelphia border axis as ambiguous despite the Egyptian army pushing 40 tanks towards the border.
He went on to explain that if Egypt preserves its historical heritage and national security, it “will not allow Israel to occupy the other side of the border between it and the Gaza Strip, because it is occupied territory according to international law"
