A bear entered a garbage dump and broke the door at a hot spring facility in Hanamaki, Iwate. The bear fled into the mountains and no one was injured, but police are patrolling the area and asking residents to be cautious.
Police suspect that the bear is looking for food, so they are asking people not to leave food and other garbage outside for long periods of time. There have been a number of bear sightings in Iwate Prefecture since last month, and a trap was set up nearby.
