In the first ten days of the Spring Festival, there were 1.1697 million passengers and 273,100 vehicles in and out of the Qiongzhou Strait. In Haikou City, vehicles are divided into truck flow and small car flow before entering the port.

The two have different cross-sea policies: trucks line up at the waiting section on a first-come, first-served basis; small cars make reservations to enter the port, according to Hainan Port and Shipping Holdings Ltd.
