China News Service, Haikou, February 6 (Reporter Wang Xiaobin and Li Yufan) Since the Spring Festival this year, the passenger and roll-off transportation in the Qiongzhou Strait has continued to operate at a high level. On February 5, reporters visited Haikou Xinhai Port and other ferry ports and found that trucks arrived on a first-come, first-served basis; small cars arrived at the port no more than 3 hours in advance according to the departure time, and the way for vehicles to enter the port was busy and not chaotic.

According to statistics from the transportation department, the Qiongzhou Strait has entered its peak passenger flow since the Spring Festival on January 26. In the first ten days of the Spring Festival, there were 1.1697 million passengers and 273,100 vehicles in and out of the Qiongzhou Strait, a year-on-year increase of 31.8% and 17% respectively. And unlike previous years when there were more car passengers entering the island in the first half of the journey and more car passengers leaving the island in the second half, the passenger flow of cars entering and leaving the island continued to be at a high level in the first ten days of Spring Festival this year.

In Haikou City on the south bank of the Qiongzhou Strait, in order to cope with the peak passenger flow of vehicles leaving the island during the Spring Festival, vehicles are divided into truck flow and small car flow before entering the port, and are waiting to be ferried on different road sections. The two have different cross-sea policies: trucks line up at the waiting section on a first-come, first-served basis; small cars make reservations to enter the port.

In order to avoid gathering at the port, the truck waiting area is located on Yehai Avenue in the south of Haikou city. Going east to west on Yehai Avenue, trucks of various types were queuing up on the roadside one after another. According to Hainan Port and Shipping Holdings Co., Ltd., unlike the flat fee for small cars, the ferry fee for trucks will fluctuate according to the type of cargo and the tonnage of the vehicle. After the truck enters the port, there are a series of processes such as card collection and weighing, so trucks need to be charged first. Cross the sea on first-come-first-served basis.

Cars leaving the island must first purchase tickets and then go to the port. Port staff and traffic police will set up inspection points on the way into the port. Vehicles that have not purchased tickets and have arrived more than 3 hours in advance will not be allowed to enter the channel.

The reporter saw at the car inspection point on Changle Road in Haikou at noon on the 5th that the four-way two-way lane was changed to one-way traffic from east to west. When the cars crossing the sea lined up to pass the inspection point, the network-connected camera captured the license plate information, and the electronic screen on the side immediately It will display the departure time of the ferry purchased by the car owner. If the departure time is within three hours, the vehicle will go straight to the port. If it exceeds three hours, the personnel on duty will guide the vehicle to leave the entrance channel.

"We were worried about the traffic jam on the road and missing the boat departure time, so we queued up early and arrived at the inspection point quickly." Mr. Zhang, a tourist from Anhui, and his family left the island in two cars in two cars, because there were still 7 hours before they left the boat. They were advised to leave the access channel. Seeing that the queue time for the car was shorter than expected, Mr. Zhang planned to take his family to "find a place to have a meal and come back."

"After diversion, reservation and other measures, if there is no heavy fog to block navigation, cars will not have to wait too long to cross the sea now." Zhang Mingyue, a police officer from the Special Service Brigade of the Traffic Police Detachment of Haikou Public Security Bureau, said that vehicles that have purchased tickets have been suspended or the queue time at the port is too long If you are unable to board the ship on time, your ticket is still valid and you can postpone boarding. "I hope that drivers will not be anxious and enjoy the journey. Even if there is a traffic jam, don't worry."

The reporter noticed that the local government has set up emergency support service points at the port and the section waiting to be crossed, providing drinking water and meals, and providing fuel supply, power supply, emergency maintenance, towing and other services to meet the emergency needs of passengers and car owners crossing the sea.

Liu Peng, deputy director of the Hainan Provincial Department of Transportation, introduced at the Qiongzhou Strait Spring Festival Transport Work Press Conference held on the 5th that the return peak is expected to be on February 13 (the fourth day of the lunar month), and on February 16 and 17 (the seventh and seventh days of the lunar month). 8) It will reach its peak and hit a record high. It will transport up to 160,000 passengers and about 40,000 vehicles per day, mainly passenger cars.
