The Israeli army has presented a plan for the "evacuation" of civilians from "combat zones" in the Gaza Strip. The Human Rights Council meets this Monday for six weeks in Geneva in the middle of the conflict in the Middle East.
Hezbollah announced that it had bombed an Israeli military base in response to raids which targeted eastern Lebanon, for the first time since the start of the war in Gaza. The government of the Palestinian Authority, which sits in the occupied West Bank, submitted its resignation to President Mahmoud Abbas.
