Award was given to the Hiroshima Prefectural Police Police Department's seven-year-old male German shepherd, the Caliphate of Smart Child. The Caliph searched for a man in his 4s who had gone missing in Nishi-ku, Hiroshima City, relying on the smell of clothes and other items.

Chief Yukihiro Noda of the Hiroshima West Police Station read aloud, "It was a wonderful achievement," and presented him with a certificate of commendation and the Caliph's favorite beef jerky.
