The designs on the manhole covers in Minato Ward are the main characters of Sailor Moon. The main character and his friends were painted in bright colors on the lids of the Keio Nakadori Shopping Street and Minato City Library.
The ward plans to have everything installed by the end of this month, and hopes to use it to attract tourists by creating guide maps and manhole cards. The manga is a masterpiece by manga artist Naoko Takeuchi that also became popular as an anime.
