Taiwan TSMC officially announces construction of Japan's second semiconductor factory in Kumamoto Prefecture. Toyota Motor Corporation has newly invested in the company that will operate the factory.
The total investment, including the first factory being built, will be 20 billion dollars, or over 2.96 trillion yen in Japanese yen. The company aims to begin construction of the second factory in 2024 and begin operations by the end of 2027.
