Spain "precautionarily" prohibits Worldcoin from continuing to scan iris data. This was announced by the director of the organization, Mar España, and the agency itself in a brief message on the social network X (formerly Twitter) The firm has been in the spotlight these days as a result of the expectation raised by one of its latest actions in which it offered economic compensation - in the form of cryptocurrencies - in exchange for iris scanning.
The AEPD confirmed on February 20 that it was investigating four complaints about this activity.
