Trends The dangers of 'selling' my iris
The Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) has ordered a precautionary measure that prevents
Worldcoin
from continuing to process personal data in Spain.
This was announced by the director of the organization, Mar España, and the agency itself in a brief message on the social network X (formerly Twitter) after several weeks of controversy surrounding the company's activity.
The firm has been in the spotlight these days as a result of the expectation raised by one of its latest actions in which it offered economic compensation - in the form of cryptocurrencies - in exchange for iris scanning to people who wanted to obtain the virtual currencies.
The AEPD confirmed on February 20 that it was investigating four complaints about this activity.
