Russia has become the third largest gas supplier to Turkey in 2023. Last year Turkey purchased gas from 21 countries, most of it was imported from Algeria, the USA, Russia, Kazakhstan and Nigeria.
Algeria and the United States supplied $1 billion and $628 million worth of gas to Turkey, respectively. It was previously reported that the European Union purchased oil, petroleum products and gas from Russia in the amount of more than €29 billion in2023. The Russian gas exports exceeded $348 million.
