Kanagawa Prefecture aims to introduce "ride sharing" in Miura City. Ordinary drivers will use their own cars to transport people for a fee.

Taxi companies in attendance expressed the opinion that they would like to see a thorough examination of the problems that emerged through the demonstration experiment. The plan is to start as early as possible in the new fiscal year, and for approximately eight months, officials said. The city will recruit around 20 people who live or work in the city as drivers, and taxi companies will be responsible for operation management.
