National Development and Reform Commission: Beijing’s “big city disease” problem will be further alleviated. State Council Information Office held a press conference on February 27 to introduce the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei over the past ten years.
“Big city diseases” mainly include the following aspects: excessive population growth, traffic congestion, pressure on the ecological environment, housing prices and social management. To solve this "bigCity disease" problem, we must reduce non-capital functions, look outside Beijing, resolve Beijing's problems on a larger regional scale, says Guo Lanfeng.
