Since 2017, the Caisse des Dépôts has received 8.4 billion euros, mainly from dormant accounts and insurance contracts. Of this total, 840 million euros were returned to their beneficiaries, including 155 last year.
400 million unclaimed euros were subject to a thirty-year statute of limitations, it was the State that collected them. Currently, seven billion euros are lying dormant in the Caisses des DÉpôt. The amounts recovered range from a few hundred to a few thousand euros.
